On December 18th, the establishment of the First Plenary Meeting of the New Drug Research and Development Committee of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine was held in the Southern Club Hotel Guanghzou. Mr. Xinhua Tao, Chairman of Leadingpharm and Executive Director of China Research Hospital Association（CRHA）, was elected as the first vice chairman. Academician Boli Zhang, Academician Jiandong Jiang, Academician Zhongyi Lei, Master of Chinese Medicine, President Zhenxi He, Deputy Secretary General Yiqiang Liu of China Research Hospital Society, Junde Li, Vice President of China Association of Chinese Medicine, Wei Wang, President of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Pan Huafeng, Vice President of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine attended the meeting and expressed their congratulations. Wang Wei, president of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, was elected as the first chairman.

As a national first-level society, CRHA has more than 20,000 expert members, including more than 50 academicians and more than 40 former leaders of relevant ministries and commissions. As a government think-tank, the association takes research hospital’s theory research and practice as the gripper, assist the government to formulate standards, promote the integrative development of clinical and scientific research integration, accelerate the transformation of medical scientific and technological achievements, promote compound medical talents, promote hospital development mode comprehensive innovation, help the Healthy China Action, promote the development of human medical cause.

The establishment of the Professional Committee of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine of CRHA is to further promote the complementary and coordinated development of Chinese and western medicine, promote the experience and academic exchange of new drugs of integrated Chinese and western medicine, and realize the leap of new drug research and development from generic drugs to independent innovation. The special committee will take the integration of traditional Chinese and western medicine as the starting point to meet the global health challenges and promote the high-quality development of innovative new drugs for integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in China.
